Biographical notes:
Krzysztof Augustyn graduated with distinction from the K. Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków. In 2019, he began second-cycle studies in the organ class of dr hab. A. Bialic at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warszawa. He took part in many master classes led by outstanding pianists and organists (including M. Toporowski). He has performed at many concerts and festivals of international rank. He is a laureate of international piano competitions (Bucharest - 3rd prize, Rome - 3rd prize) and organ competitions (Academic Organ Competition in Poznań - 2020, 1st prize, International J.P. Sweelinck Organ Competition in Gdańsk - 2021, 2nd prize).
The Kalophonia Male Vocal Ensemble was founded in 2011 at the Department of Music, Ukrainian and Medieval Studies of the M. Lysenko Academy of Music in Lviv. The aim of the ensemble was to revive the tradition of Ukrainian church singing. The group's current repertoire includes music from the 14th to the 21st century (including works by M. Lysenko, M. Werbycki, M. Łeontowycz, M. Kołessa, St. Ludkewycz, A. Kos-Anatolski). The ensemble is actively involved in concerts. It has participated in numerous festivals in Giżycko, Koszalin, Lviv, Łódź, Nowy Sącz, Płock, Przemyśl, Sanok. In 2018-2020, it toured Germany, Poland, Ukraine, and Great Britain. The ensemble has also released several CDs with recordings of Ukrainian church music from the Renaissance to the 20th century.
