Biographical notes:
Roman Szlaużys graduated with distinction from the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw in the Organ Class of Prof. Józef Serafin. In 1993-95 he completed postgraduate studies at the Conservatory in Lausanne, in the Organ Class of Prof. Kei Koito. He took part in master classes led by Guy Bovet, Hans Haselbock, Daniel Roth, Julian Gembalski, among others. He is a laureate of international organ competitions in Poland and abroad. For many years he worked as an organ lecturer at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. For 25 years he has been an organ teacher at the Józef Elsner State Secondary School of Music in Warsaw. He gives concerts as a soloist and chamber musician. He has performed in many European countries. He has made recordings for Polish and Swiss radio.
Erlendis Quartet was founded in 2013 by Adrian Furmankiewicz, Wojciech Jurkiewicz, Anna Krupa and Karol Mruk. Daniel Egielman joined in 2023. The band has performed over 300 concerts in 18 countries on 2 continents, performing in concert halls of large cities as well as in many small towns, both in Poland and abroad. The quartet also collaborates with orchestras, performing, among others, with ensembles from Zielona Góra, Toruń, Lviv, Baden-Baden and Neubrandenburg. The band's concerts have been recorded and broadcast in 7 countries (Denmark, Germany, Poland, Sweden, USA, Hungary, Great Britain). The quartet has won 10 awards at international chamber music competitions in Europe and North America.
