Biographical notes:
Marcin Knura
graduated from the Instrumental Department of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he studied organ under Professor J. Wróblewski and Assistant Professor W. Bednarski. He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician at festivals in Poland, Lithuania, and the UK. He has participated in numerous master classes (led by T. Escaich, J. Gembalski, J. Serafin, H. Fagius, among others) and in organ improvisation (led by W. Seifen and S. Pluyaut). For his academic and artistic achievements, he has twice received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and a Marshal's Scholarship from the Silesian Voivodeship.
Angela Hicks
has performed in numerous concert halls, including the Palace of Versailles, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Berlin Philharmonic, La Scala in Milan, and the Palau de la Música in Barcelona. She made her stage debut in 2020 in G.F. Handel's opera Semele at La Scala, conducted by Sir J.E. Gardiner. Her most notable achievements include the title role of Alcina in F. Caccini's film production of La Liberazione di Ruggiero and her participation in the recording of the music for the film The Favourite, directed by Y. Lanthimos. She has collaborated with numerous early music ensembles (The Monteverdi Choir, The King's Consort, Academy of Ancient Music). She has released an album as a member of the soprano duo "Fair Oriana," which she creates with P. Appleyard.
Mateusz Ławniczak
graduated from the Academy of Music in Wrocław, where he studied guitar with Professors P. Zaleski and W. Gromolak. He also completed his studies at the Institute of English Studies at the University of Wrocław. For many years, he has been active in classical, early, folk, and experimental music. He debuted with a Shakespearean program in 2016, appearing on Radio Wrocław, Wrocław Television, TVP Kultura, Polish Radio Channel 2, and abroad (Estonia, Lithuania, Germany, Serbia, Slovenia, and the United Kingdom). In addition to his membership in the "Jacaras" ensemble, he also co-creates chamber duets: "Musa Itinerante" with J. González-Springer (Renaissance and Baroque music of France and Spain) and a project with A. Hicks (English love songs from the Renaissance and early Baroque).
